Kim!

Much appreciated and very constructive comments. Being new to this I need to work harder on my compositions and taking liberties from the photo. I've taken many photographs and do hate to change them but painting is a totally different idea. I do also like the thought of mixing the color on the piece and not on the palette.

I do think as in my trade we are all working towards being a master by continuing to improve our methods through education and a very thoughtful critique.
The barn/house is a bit new and a wash is an excellent idea.

Thanks Peter,

I just started to play with some small studies. Now I have to work on the sketches and computer work and put more thought into the composition.

Annie,

Good idea to do a bit of cropping, you can play a bit. Sometimes I find there are items that are ok in the photo but don't translate very well in the final outcome. Black and white would help with tone and value. Better planning would benefit but sometimes I want to bp spontaneous.

Nothing wrong with using photographs - or cropping on the computer to get the compositon you want. sometimes I make it black and white or just a few tones using photoshop which helps a lot with compostion,

Thanks Peter for the critique. Sometimes I find my self impatient and need to dry out the surface before layering on another tone. Also I
i'm finding I could do a better job of my compositions from a photograph.

Thanks Annie, never thought of the work as dreamy but I do agree. I've only painted a few pieces so I need all of the critiques I can to help improve my skills.
