Thank you Michael for your constructive criticism. After reading what you wrote and looking at my composition ,  I agree with everything you wrote .  I will  definitely be  more  aware of this on my next one .

Hi Gail.  The success of your very nice painting  has much to do with your well thought out composition.  I think the composition would be enhanced without the diagonal twig?  Cover the diagonal twig with your finger and see what you think .. I like the minimalism of your linear design and negative shapes, but the diagonal branch kind of throws an element of chaotic clutter .. it messes with the simplicity of your design.
