It's a lovely painting, Julia! The grasses are very beautiful in the sunlight! I certainly understand what you're saying about too much fiddling, because I've often had the same problem.  My first teacher told me that the old masters painted things again & again & again, and that was one way they learned - so if you paint this scene again, you may find it easier!

Thank you, Colleen. I so appreciate your lovely comment. It's just that I would like to work toward bolder, more confident brush strokes. I have to remind myself often that I've only been doing this for a short time. I do see overall improvement and that's good enough. :-)

I really like this Julia.  You have a beautiful soft touch with your oils!  Beautiful colours in the sky too and the grasses are great.
