I like to avoid pink as well. It's just too sweet. Somehow I painted the pink cloth and kind of liked it; so, I left it. You may be right about the shadow. There was a lot of reflected light which made that shadow light. Maybe I'll take your advice and darken it. Thank you for your always good observations. Did you finish those crazy ten minute pears?

Nancy, I like your 2value study, excellent! I like your value study, every plane has its own value and logically related. I am afraid of pink , but yours seems harmonized with the green and yellow, interesting!. Do you think it is better to make the right side of the pear a little bit darker?
