12 X 12 Hobein Water Soluble Oils. I highlighted the sunlight part that hits the rock, darkened rock at water's edge and other places, intensified slightly the background buildings/countryside, and added more color to the shaded part of the rock and water. It feels better to me but I want to get it right so hope to hear from you.

Thank you Jim and Michael.  My actual painting shows a darker greenish/blue shadow below the rock and I like it better than the photo.  I can't seem to get the greenish blue to match and I've tried several times  My camera is new so I need to experiment with different settings.  Do you have trouble getting greenish blue paint to show up correctly?  I haven't tried it outside yet because it is 100 degrees and 25 mile an hour wind!  My wet painting blowing in the wind is not a picture I want to see!!!

Linda, you did a superb job on this one.  Your rock is wonderful.  I love the warms and cools you put into the shadow side and how you reflected some of the water color up into that area ..very nice.  If you want, a darker greenish/blue in the water beneath the rock (deep shadow of rock on water) would be okay ...don't try it if this is dry .

Beautiful colors, Linda!  I really like the way you've separated the background from the rock.
