Reallly lovely sensitive rendering and agree with Richard has a very Renaisance feel with the wide board cloth and the beautiful placement.  Love those soft dewey mulit layered flowers. Paintings like this help me understand still life all that much better.

Thank you all for your encouragement! I wasn't going to post this month as I didn't finish the painting but thought I would include it anyway. I hadn't had a chance to put the finishing touches on the apple and flowers. I'm a very pleased with the response. The tips I have learned through this workshop have really helped! There are so many great paintings here.

Jane, this is such a gorgeous painting. I love your setup and just the way you painted it. It really has an old world feel to it. Bravo!

What a joy to see this painting. Beautiful composition and glowing colours. Brilliant.

This is a very beautiful painting! I like the movement you have created across the length with the changes in light value and the shadow shifts. I think the overhead light is the hardest to use and maintain the shapes of the objects but you have done a great job with these. I love the way you have also found the cast shadow threw the water filled glass vase having the nice bright light reflecting on to the table clothe. Also the orange simple glows. This is what I like the most about this piece, those kinds of subtle shifts in hue keeping the focus on the silver bowl its reflections and the fruit it holds. Love the water filled glass and the refracted images. Jayne you have really captured this very difficult challenge

One last little thing watch the tags on your photos for these challenges the capitals are important especially on Workshop8.

Jayne, It is very beautiful painting.  The silver bowl is super real. I also like your reflection of the glass, the shadow tone and especially your light. Not only the strong main light source working on the objects but also the subtle light reflection on the boarder of the table clothe.  So good!  Jayne, I almost missed this one, if you uploaded it a little bit earlier you may get more critiques to encourage you and help you with their knowledge of art. Jayne, Nice color combinations to bring a feeling of warmth. Your orange just glows and drips yum. Nice reflection of the flower in the vase. I also like the vertical layout complimented by the canvas size.
