oil on textured panel, 11" by 14", plein air. Painting out at Loch Lomand Marina in San Rafael with Laura Xu and Saturday plein air group. Nice hot afternoon. By the time we finished the tide had gone out and most of the water in this salt water marsh was gone, exposing the mud flats. There is extensive work coming up on the marshlands around this harbor to put in more costal trail and restore the wetlands. Lots of shorebirds and migratory birds along here.

I really like the warmth in your paintings with your new palette!
Thanks Jon. Check out Laura's painting of the same scene; talk about nice color and excellent brushwork! I think that red blouse must put a little magic in her paintings! Stu
Nice color and excellent brushwork. Mudflats are interesting to paint!
Thanks Laura. I did a little clean up in the studio this morning and signed and photographed it. I do like the vibrancy of the greens that I am getting with thalo green on the palette. Stu
Stu, this is one of my favourite of yours. I like every part of the painting.
Thanks Silvana. Stu
Great Stu!
Thanks Joy. I have been focusing on my color and using my Frank Seranno palette. This has improved the vibrancy of my colors, particularly in the foreground. I am also working on getting a clear separtation of my layers.
