Well, it sure was fun painting it!  :)  I like to try to think "out of the box" but maybe next time I will go with "status quo" (hey, how do you spell that, anyway)

Well that's different! Not your best work I think, but maybe your bravest! :-) The modeling of the owl is a bit confused because of the lights in the darks and the darks in the lights - tricky detail to get right. The orange reflection in his feathers is a bit clumsy too, though the idea is right. I know you can do better than this painting Sharon because I've seen it. You win some you lose some. The big problem as you know is trying to invent stuff that you're not seeing and you did a great job setting up the model and everything but even then it's a huge challenge. In this one you seemed to stick more to the photo of the owl than the toy, which is the main reason it lacks realism - two different lighting conditions in the one painting. Good try though.

If you look at the photo of my stuffed owl, you will see the reflections in the fur, so why not in feathers?  I changed the stuffed owl into a real one.
