Hi Silvana,  I am not very good at the photography stuff ..I put my camera on"Program", set everything else to Auto or Normal and let it do its thing.  My suggestion to you is that you only use the photo reference for shapes and drawing ..forget what the photo is telling you about color and values ..it is wrong anyway!! Take the photo and then write notes about what you are seeing  ..that is your reference .your own eye's!! ...Do your own thing on the painting and have fun with it!!! ..experiment with doing the painting twice ...one with a cool palette and the other with a warm palette ....you will gain much knowledge and confidence in your color choices.

This painting is the same as the other one, with some simple fixes. The difference in colour is because of the light. My question is, how do I take a picture in a sunny day, and make it look warmer? I have downloaded gimp, and I also have Picasa, but I need to learn how to use them. I just know how to straighten and crop ... Should I change the temperature? About the White balance, is there any alternative way in which it could be referred to?
