Well, here it is; not at all sure about the colours on the rock, but in the end I decided to forget realism & try to make some interesting abstract shapes. It looks like some school kids got out there with a few cans of paint!

Thank you very much Laura!
I love the colors you used in the painting. It is a great painting!
Thanks Dor - yes, Ningning's idea is right on! Thank you for your comments too Montalvo - that's a funny idea that traffic is stopping! Maybe they're looking for the kids with their spray paint!
Nice work Jess. Really like the movement of the water and the light of the sky. I bet traffic is stopping to look at the rock. Good job.
Hi Jessica
Came back to look again. Ningning's comment is right on about adding some of those beautiful colors to other parts of the painting to put the whole painting together. : ))
Thank you Ningning for your very nice comments & taking the time to look at my work. It's a very good idea to add these colours in different values in other places; I'm sure it would be a big improvement - thanks!
Very nice work, Jessica. The composition , the value, the light , the shapes and detail defination are very good for me. Your painting always give me a feeling of peace. Your bright colour on the upper part of the rock are beautiful and very well designed. I enjoy it.If I were you I will add some of these colours in different version of tempreture to the dark part of the rock and other places of the painting to make the whole picture harmonized. Instead of a lonely spot. It is just the way I would do. For your reference only. Again, This is a well designed and very good work.
Thank you everyone for your very kind & encouraging comments! I'm glad you all think the colour isn't too overboard! Michael - I do think about edges now - thanks to you! I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm & support on this site very much.
