Beautiful and dramatic sly. Perfect perspective foreground!
Wow Stu! It's great!
Thank you Betsy and Pandalana. Stu
I agree! This is already beautiful!
I like this, Stu. I agree with the comments below: it already is a nice painting in its own right. Cant wait to see the glazed version.
Thanks Carolyn and Pauline. Carolyn, I know what Richard means, but my panel was so lightly toned that all it does is warm everything, and I tend to paint on the cool side; the other real reason is that I am not sure whether I toned it with acrylic or oil, so I would have had to paint over it in oil and wait several days; I wanted to get going, since this is kind of a 3 part workshop and the 4 workshops are linked together. Pauline, since I am not a very good alla prima painter, I do like the freedom as well of just a value underpainting of abstract shapes. Stu
Lovely grisaille Stu there's so much freedom to painting like this i feel
Ah yes, I really dislike working over that glaring white, would you believe I gessoed out my acrylic toned panel so I could work the white the Richard said...too darn literal, me! Look forward to seeing the next one. ("If it's any good." ...uh-huh, as though...)
