Thanks Berverly and Carolyn. Carolyn, I had a gessoed panel with a very faint warm yellow tone that I used and it does show through a little, especially in my transparent/semi-transparent dark areas, as I intended. I took a bunch of sunset photos during that turbulence (it wasn't really a storm up here) and actually did a similiar grisaille from one of them with my left over tonal mixtures. I will glaze that also in several days and post it if it's any good. Stu
Stu, looks very much like the storm and turbulence that passed through here a couple days ago, including the very interesting foreground. Did you have an tonal ground you worked on? Love it!
lovely!!
Stu I really like the movement you have in the clouds and the light showing in the foreground. Very nice.
Nice range in values. It is a painting already.
Looking good, Stu. It must be hard to wait for the next stage. (I haven't started this stage yet...)
Nice tones Stu.
