Oil on canvas panel 11" by 14" A lot more detail in this layer. A few tweaks, refinements, uncloning of some shapes and details yet to go to finalize paintings. Any tips, suggestions and comments are welcome.

Hi Stu

Your Grand Canyon-Revised is awsome.  Now there is more of depth in it with the softening of edges in distance and color adjustment.

Very interesting to see how your painting developed.........dor:))

See Grand Canyon-Revised; depth is there- that's the final. Stu

arriving late to the party - love this but i'd like to see the far horizon softened a little - more depth - i know you're not done - i wish i'd had time to do this one!

Have always had my days and night mixed up!  Now finally in my old age (giggle) I can do as I darn well please and yes it pleases me to stay up and paint.  : ))

Dor, try not to stay up all night, unless you are doing something you enjoy (painting?). It's 4 am here and I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep; so I'm catching up on Email on my iPad. I look forward to your Grand Canyon painting. Stu

Dor look at my final, labeled "Grand Canyon". I have softened the edges progressively in the distance and sharpened them in the foreground. If you check out the last 6 photos that I have posted by going to my page and clicking on photos in succession, you will see the progression of the painting. I spent about 45 minutes to an hour on each layer. I was trying to get that 3D depth in there and still keep some detail (my passion for detail cannot be suppressed). For me, these workshops are an exercise in learning something new each month or trying to perfect something that does not yet meet my expectations. I have been painting for over 60 years but only on a frequent basis the last 12 years. Art and particularly painting has been my stress reliever most of my life; I make the time for it. Although practice does not really "make perfect" it sure does come close. Keep up what you are doing; it pays off eventually in an inner satisfaction with your work. Try to paint a little every day, at lest for a half hour; it's gym for the mind. Stu

Hi Stu

You have put your heart and soul into this!  When have you had the time?  I am still working hard but not getting any results..........I will keep trying..........smiles to you.........dor:))

My only suggestion is to soften some hard edges on the rocks, I think it would put them in the distance more......
