Well, you are a color master! I know what you mean when you speak about 'getting bogged down in detail'.  I've been trying lately to get out of that pattern, but it's so hard because so much of the piece is the beauty of the detail!...oh well.  Okay, if there was ONE thing you took away from the workshop on painting the kettle to get such a great reflection..what would it be?  I'm curious because it's such of an interesting subject to transfer onto paper. Thanks for your time and happy painting!

Hi Rita, I just loved the looseness of your little cottage painting and its great to see such intense colour. Well done

Rita, I really enjoy your work!  I started commenting on one picture..then another.  I decided I could continue through your entire list so I thought I'd just send you this little note...You are a very wonderful artist! I really think you should be a full time artist and make some serious money.  I appreciate your comment about your painting being about the colors and mood. You really hit the mark on those points.  Looking forward to your next pieces.

Rita you live in my growing up area. I saw your painting of the cannery cafe, I know it very well. I graduated from steveston high way back in the 60's so know the area very well. Great painting!!

Is that Richmond Canada, or?

The Poppy is also called the Tissue flower, as it appears to be like crumpled tissue. Usually found in very humid areas of the country, with mild winters,  and quite difficult to grow. If you look at my pics, you will see that I have also painted them, in a 24x36 Acrylic.

happy I was able to give you some information about them. cheers Jo

Hi Rita - welcome aboard this great site.  I'm glad to be your first friend!  I'm actually from Tasmania Australia and even though New Zealand is so close I've yet to visit but it is on my very long bucket list of places I want to go to.  This year my husband and I are visiting Africa which is pretty exciting.  Looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful watercolours.  Bye for now Julie
