What a complete pleasure it was meeting you and your lovely wife. Thank you for making the drive over the hill Monday morning just so we could meet. I felt, after communicating for so long here, that I already knew you well; so, it was a real pleasure actually meeting you in person.
I'm sure you know what a delightful person Richard is after spending time with him in Paso. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, and watching him paint in real time. He truly is an outstanding teacher. My sister-in-law, Karen, has gone to many workshops given by famous artists in Laguna. She said that by far, Richard is the best teacher she has ever experienced. Not only is he a great teacher, but he is also extremely generous. He is emailing to each of us photos and the lessons of the workshop, and giving us as many videos as would make up for the cost of the workshop. WOW! Anyway, I loved every moment...it made me feel like a real person again. You are right, I need to get away more often.
Maybe next year, he will come back and you will join us. He said he may do a workshop in Santa Cruz. Karen told him that he and his family could stay with her (they have a huge house) and do a workshop there. He says he would love to paint in Laguna. We shall see.
Thank you again for making the trip to meet. Hope you had a very Happy Birthday.
Stuart I just wanted to tell you how pleased that you would think of me to send me an invitation to your evening at Marin Open Studios Preview Gala. It sounds like such a wonderful evening and I do wish I could attend but NM is a far distance to CA so I must decline. I hope it is a great time and others (friends) will be there with you. Roena
To continue, I have already sent my fee in to join the workshop. I hesitated because I am my husband's caregiver, but I was so excited about working with and meeting Richard after all this time, that I committed after one day's hesitation. My daughters both are pushing me to do it. Maybe that will be the time to try out a caregiver.
I wish you could also join the workshop. It would be such fun painting with you...and meeting you. I wasn't planning on going to the Art Fest, but if that is the only time you can be there, I will come for sure. I can get away in the afternoons. Do you know if any others from your area are planning to come down? I am so looking forward to May.
Thanks Stuart for the Christmas wishes........and many more back to you. Lovely painting of the clouds. I am glad you are getting to get out and paint between the rain showers! Wish you could send some of that wet to NM where we are at the moment praying for snow on top of this mountain! The ski area could not be open at all if it were not for man made snow. That is so sad. I can remember deep snows by Thanksgiving years ago. sad
Thanks Stu! I have a LOT of direct painting to do before I can get comfortable there!! The slow & steady old masters approach can be tedious but works for me...for the super realism. I long for the vibrant, juicy brushwork in the direct and will press on!
Hi Stuart - sorry to both you with this again, but seems there's another one??

------------ Good Day,
How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on:( email@example.com ) for the full details.
Delighted to accept your friend request Stu. Felt we were friends already this is such a great site. I do envy you and your friends being able to paint outdoors together but am just back from a great art-fix myself having just visited St. Petersburgh. My other half had to drag me out of the Hermitage. Could have spent weeks there.
Looking forward to browsing through your blog which I have just discovered. I had already taken down last night your steps for doing plein aire which is my big weakness.
Thanks Stuart, love your work. Love your blog too!!!. After reading some of your blog, it brought to mind I've been looking for that perfect painting surface, that magic brush, and that special magical tube of paint. Kind of showed up on your blog!!.
