My lewe was toetaal ontwrig en ek mis hom so..! Dit is nou eers wat ek daarna voel om weer te begin skilder. Die aleen wees vang my soms nog steeds, dan vlug ek maar na die kinders in Gauteng. Ek beplan reeds om in Julie Kaap toe te gaan my broer word 60. Hy woon in Durbalville.
Alle voorspoed met die aanbouery. Hoop die groot verfkwas word gou verruil vir n kleiner een, want jy het n wonderlike talent. Groete Zib

Hi Adele!

Baie dankie vir jou boodskap!

Ek was gelukkig genoeg om saam met my broer en sy vrou Augrabies te besoek so 'n klompie jaar gelede. 'n Wonderlike plek! Ons was oppad om te gaan blommetjies kyk. Kakemas is ook 'n uitsonderlikie plekkie. Jy was gelukkig om daar groot te word.  Mooi bly, Louis

Oh you sweet thing you!  Thank you for the lovely, thoughtful gift.  It made me smile!  I love that you are sharing this part of my life with me.  We shall be great friends and have such fun painting together!  Have not had a chance to look at the florum this morning, but will soon.  Did you post your lady?  I got all my gray paint mixed yesterday and hope to start my pots when I get through with all the e-mail.  Ro

Adele,

Thanks for replying.  I love your artwork.  Your abstract is so amazing...as are the other paintings..  Looking at your paintings sure bring back happy memories. I miss Cape Town for it's natural beauty.  I used to paint folk art in acrylics.  I have actually no idea how to use them for fine art!!  I try to focus on the watercolour medium only, as I still have so much to learn and don't won't to waste my time fiddling with other mediums, and being master of none.   I liked using oils it's so forgiving.  One day when I have my own studio and mastered watercolour I would like to try oils again. Your paintings are an inspiration!!!  Have a great day also...

Adele,

Where about in Cape Town do you live?  I lived in Trovato.  Not even sure how to spell it now. :))  Watercolour is unpredictable, has a mind of its own, and a  difficult medium to master.  My art space is in our living area, and my husband doesn't like the smell of oils.  So I had to change my medium.   I personally think you are better off working in oils.  You have better control over your work..  Your art is beautiful.   I love it!!

Hello Adele,

I added a "Process" Album with descriptions to my process.  The Four colors I used where Ivory Black, Cad. Red Light,  Yellow Ochre Light, and Permalba White.  I tend to use these colors often and add to it if I really think it will help the piece.  Thanks for asking about my process.  I've been meaning to put these picks up, and you finally motivated me to do it.  Thanks!

I think this would work for you to send me a pic to comment on.  Above where you are typing on "this"window is the word - link - then to the right is a picture.  Click on that and download your pic.  Then make any comments to me.  Looking at our thread (past notes to each other) I dont see me telling you about me trying to learn to paint in the Flemish Technique.  I just dont remember exactly.  R U interested in learning this process?  I am trying for some Indian pots on a white rabbit fur.  No clue what I am doing, but I belong to a forum where a bunch of us are learning from some who have done this before.  I am sill working on my umber layer.  Next will be the dead-gray layer, then the color layer.  Do you know what I am talking about?
