Hello from Nelson Lakes

Hi, I am a painter living at St.Arnaud, Nelson Lakes National Park ( New Zealand). I paint landscapes primarily, in both watercolour and oil, though am venturing into portraits, old vehicles, people .....I often paint on site - St.Arnaud is situated at the northern tip of the Southern Alps, so am surrounded by mountains and beside a beautiful lake.

Because I live in a small, isolated community I'm looking forward to meeting other artists through this site, and hopefully getting feedback and inspiration. I'm particularly hoping to meet other South Island artists...

Welcome to the site Jan. I live in the central North Island in a river valley 30 kilometres from Taihape but my son and daughter in law William and Jane Sage live not far from you in the Wairoa Valley. They have a small block which was part of the old Branch Station and William is a pilot. When we visit them I would love to make contact with you and maybe have a painting day together!

Hello Robin and thanks for the welcome. Whereabouts are you? We have good friends at Taihape and have explored quite a bit of the country round there- beautiful places! Would love to meet your son and daughter in law if they're up at the Lake, we have two pillot children too..
