I agree with Dina.  We learn a tremendous amount from each others paintings and also when watching Richard paint the same subject. His interpretation and simplification of a scene is a big learning tool.

Hi Richard,

I hope you will have us all continue to work from the same photo that you provide.  I feel the learning experience is so much stronger this way  -- it is reinforced each time you provide a new critique, and again when we see your painted version of the photo. It is also helpful to see everyone elses paintings on the same subject.

Your Evening Clouds painting is a reminder to me of the clouds we saw on our visit to Perth and Sydney this month.  Lots of rain!  We did have sunshine too and had a fantastic time.  There are some beautiful places to see in Australia.  Didn't manage to go to New Zealand which would have been wonderful judging by these beautiful paintings you have done.
