My name is Irma and I live in the beautiful little town of Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape.

I'm passionate about painting, and what I lack in skill I more than make up for with enthusiasm.   I am very thrilled to have found this amazing site and very grateful to Richard for giving his time and expertise to help us newbies.

I'm visiting my children in Durban at present and can't wait to get home to put Richards tips into practice.

Would love to hear from any other newbies out there.

Hello Pamela,

Good to hear from you.  Do you paint with oils?   Are you doing anything in particular at the moment.   I use oils which is my favourite because its so forgiving and you can always go back and change it.    I have tried watercolour, but am far to impatient and get very frustrated.

I am back home in Plett and am painting like crazy.   I just love it!!   I go to lessons with a local artist on a Thursday, so am off tomorrow - its always great to get input from someone else.

Irma my favourite is oils but I learning water colour and i them too I was going to a local artist for lesson but got the grandkids to look after and can't for a while I live near the ocean and I really love painting seascape scene near me it is nice to know some other artist no matter what country they live in. With water colours it is hard to learn after oils but it can be done love hearing from you Pam
