Hi Everyone

My name is Rita and I'm new to this site.  I hope I can figure it out.  I'm new to painting also.  Just started last fall.  I took art in high school, but that was a long time ago. I did some oils then, but for years have done nothing.  So I figure I'm a newby.

I see that there are alot of people from around the world on this site.  That's really very interesting to me.  Just like to see how people from all walks of life paint.

I took some acrylic painting classes last fall.  I was surprised to see how everyone's interpretation of the same subject was so different and yet so cool (for want of a better word).

  I did try oils, but just wasn't liking them.  I do like acrylics much better.  I just also need to learn to use them to the best advantage.  From the looks of the paintings on this site, I have a long way to go.I

You all are wonderful painters...hope I can get as good.

welcome Rita, you will enjoy this site and learn heaps and heaps. lots of help here as well. you can learn at your own pace. just enjoy and give it a go...never, never know if you don't. :)

Thank you, Debbie for your welcome.  I can't wait to get started.  I just need to remember not to rush things and don't expect to be perfect.  ....I will try to remember that it just takes practice.

Right now I need to find my way around this site and figure out where to start.

Rita, have you paid up for lesson 8, do that. then get your items together and take a photo of your set up. then get your board or canvas, draw up your drawing then start painting,,,,take your time.  good luck & i will wait to see the end result. :)
