Notan and Value Study Question

Workshop 10 was my first workshop and  first attempt at  Notan and value studies.  I used canvas paper.  What type of paper does everyone use?  I was going to use my sketch pad but thought the oil paint might run.  Thanks

Barbara-I often use 140lb water colour paper with a couple of coats of acrylic gesso.  Works fine for oil paints and doesn't soak in to the paper.  You might try that with your sketch paper.  What weight is the sketch paper-90 lbs. ?
