This was from a vision I had whilst going to sleep one night.  I decided to paint it and have since come to realise that it comes from my subconscious mind since being attacked early one morning in my own home.  Originally the sides were to have been glass (like a high rise building) but as I went along I realised they'd become metal.  That would be symbolic of protection of course.  The tentacles have eyes at the ends and it reflects the way I was for almost six months after the attack... always on guard... always looking outside to see if someone was there. 

It's quite cathartic to paint and it also helps us to see what's going on inside our head... especially the parts of the mind we tend to shut down.
