Just wondered about the texture of the rock. Guess it is relatively smooth. :-))

Gail, I am not a "rock" person, so I dont have any idea the kind of rock. Back when I did this (I did a lot), I would buy a rock that did NOT have something showing that looked like something by its self. I wanted you to buy the art because of what I painted on the rock, not that the rock looked cool and I put something small and cute on it. So, I just bought big slices of rocks. You have to seal the rock with two coats of acrylic spray, do the painting and spray again. The material (as close to leather texture as I could find) is glued onto a wooden support and framed. I used to desire to paint like a photograph, but I was just amazed at this one because I remember I painted it with a big brush (1/4-1/2 inch wide). Ro

This is a stunner too! Is it slate or sand-stone? Or some other type? It makes for a really interesting support! :-))
