"Transparent"
6x6 inches. Oil on Board.
I hope you will read my blog:

I put a frame around it just for fun (I didn't paint the frame...it is a real frame)
Learning Points:
1. Again with the light background which looks white but is actually a light blue.
2. Two different transparent sources. The wrapper and the invisible tape. I made the invisible tape slightly darker and with no whites, and lighted and cooled the heart part just below it. Also for the tape, I blended it to the same color in certain edges to make it seem more invisible. The wrapper was trickier. At first the edges were not so sharp, but it really did not look real enough, so I had to clean them up. Also, had the value right in the beginning, but the color was too cool, so I added yellow ochre (lightly) to warm it up a bit because the wrapper really was reflecting that color.
3. Shadows. I really had to get these right to be believable. I had the lollipop taped to a piece of canvas board with a lamp over it, so I just painted how I saw the shadows, and then blended them out.
4. Transparent candy heart. If you look closely, you will see the stick up inside the candy heart. For the heart I use cadmium red medium, cadmium red light, and cadmium orange medium, to try to get all the little nuances of the candy shades.
5. Highlights. Because the colors of the wrapper were already so light, pure white did not really show up, so I mixed in a little bit of cadmium orange to make it pop on the bluish wrapper shadows.
