First off, nice job Sarah!

Thomas, there is great value in watching a more experienced artist work. And also great value in copying their work. That tradition has been around for centuries. You xan learn about color mixing, hiw that artist thinks about composition and design, and how he proceeds (process). All study and practice is profitable for growth, even if you wind up painting in a wholly different style. And even the experienced artists participate in these projects. They know there's always something more to learn. And most of us don't really care if we win or not. We just care if we learn something and get better! I can say that I have learned things here, and at a very reasonable cost.

Yes! There are different subjects each month. Sometimes boats or beautiful mountain scenes plus many more. Richard puts up three photos of the subject taken from different angles and then he takes you through his painting process, carefully explaining every step of the way.
You don't have to paint the photo as it is but you can collate the best part of each photo and make up a painting that is totally yours. Great fun!

Well, time-wise you will stay first whatsoever. I have not taken part on any of these workshops... Are they about anything else? ;-)
