Something about the contrast of the lady in black with the roughly textured stone appealed to me - and the simple notan structure.

Thank you for such a nice comment, Ningning - I used a palette knife for the walls & steps, just as if I was actually applying plaster to a wall - but in a haphazard way!  Fun to do that!  The walls were actually full of marks & broken plaster like this, which is interesting to paint.

Jessica, Very interesting painting.  I love the way you create the texture of the ground and wall, bored, impressive brush strokes which guide my heart followe the  movement. I love it.

Nice study! She could be connected better to the ground by darkening / softening the edges at the spots she touches the ground
