One of the most beautiful and impressive painting of Richard Robinson is “Pataua”. This marvellous artwork kept my attention since I subscribed to his site http://thecompleteartist.ning.com/ and, whenever I started a new painting in which light effects was about I would keep an eye on it. Finally, I tried and made “my Pataua” and this is all about my new painting of today. It was done with Water Mixable Oils on paper canvas and the size is only 40 x 14 cm. Compared to the Richard’s original one (152 x 51 cm) it is very small but my plan is to make progress and eventually….do it in the original size. Waiting for your critiques.
Here is Richard’s comments about his Pataua;
“Pataua is a very special place. If you've been there you know what I mean. There's something about the landscape there. Maybe it's the contrast between the serene estuary and the roaring surf beach, or its small community divided by the estuary, tenuously united by its wooden footbridge. Whatever it is, I always feel like I've arrived somewhere unique and special when I drive down out of the bush into Pataua”.
