I love the colours and the blending you have done. I have tried to do landscapes similar to this and it is REALLY hard. In fact I have never been successful. Great job!
Lyndon, your paintings are beautiful!! I like another "Late afternoon" too, that one is also very good. And It must be the same scene of the photo you post here.
Hi Lyndon, Love your photos, but even more i love the way you use your colours to portray heat in this painting its a real feast for the eye! I love the the middle hill (left) and the way that the dark lilac shadows and that lovely warm yellow come together and throw the distant hills back. A beautiful composition!!
I like the warm colours in this and especially next to the cool blue colours of the far hills. I also like your trees - again very nice shadows. Great rich colours throughout.
Alas and alack Steve, my 72+ brain does not retain details like but from what I CAN remember the palette probably had the following colours in it, whether they were all used is another matter: Aliziran crimson, ultramarine blue, cadmium yellow medium, yellow ochre, naples yellow, dioxazine purple, cerulean blue, paynes grey, titanium white, burnt sienna and possibly transparent peronine orange, permanent green light, arylamide yellow light & deep. The latter ones I not sure of but they were part of the sample pack of interactive colours I started with. Hope this helps.
Hi Lyndon, This painting has it all together. It all looks "right". Your color choices seem to be different than your other paintings. Can you recall how you made your color choices and how you mixed them?
Steve,
Thanks Merv, I did this painting about 2 years ago when I was going to classes with Dale Marsh in Brisbane, the brushstrokes are mine but he had a hell of a lot of input and it would not come out as well but for Dale, of that I'm sure.
I really like this, It has real depth
