Thankyou Diane!  - I freaked out after I had drawn it on the canvas. - There I was, brush in hand, ready to start painting, excited that I'm FINALLY doing it, when I looked at the velvet, an suddenly realised I had absolutely no idea how to paint it! - And I'd never seen any velvet ever painted in another other painting, ever!  - It was pure terror!  all is well. - They're not so shiny now, after I've dismantled the still life!  Hee, hee   :)

The shine you have achieved with the high lights is just perfect. They all look freshly polished. Good house keeping:) Also loving the soft muted background to allow the objects to be the center piece.
