Hi, Ian - thanks - don't know if you saw - but I developed (ahem ;( ) it and went off the rails. Actually I became dissatisfied with the design and gessoed it over (subsequent to the 'developments').
What I've done is, I've blocked it two versions of it - one with the big tree (to do a tree study d'après MJS) and one without the tree (to do it d'après Jan Koiman's idea) - but now I'm stuck! Got this 2 blockins looking at me!
Meanwhile I'm almost finished on another subject - busy!
Hi, Candi - thanks - trees can be astonishingly difficult - I did a wee course with Deborah Paris on tree painting - but that was a while back and they're still problematic (what isn't ;( ?!)
Don't know how I missed your last couple of pieces Jon! Love the sky on this especially! I'm checking out your dark trees and sky holes that are done so very well. My lesson this week is negative painting. I am working on a piece with two dark trees now, and I am having a hell of a time! I will persist though until I get it (somewhat)!
Thanks, Joy! - good thoughts, I agree... ...OK...
