Watercolor of a beloved pet. This is an 8" x 10" painting I just completed for a client. I love to paint animals, children, and adults. Capturing the expressions that tells a story about the subjects is so exciting. I am always surprised when it all comes together.

Candi, Thank you for your kind comment.  Belle sat while I did a sketch of her and later I did this little watercolor painting of her.  I'm trying my best to understand the techniques of oil painting, but with watercolor I let the paint do the dancing on the paper with a little help from my brush.  I have a few more pet portraits on my website: SharonBrayFineArt.com

You really captured this puppy Sharon!  The eyes muzzle and mouth are so very good!

What a wonderful painting.  You have really done a great job of bring his character into the picture.  Love his happy smile!

This is a very beautiful portrait, Sharon. Belle looks so happy and I'm sure your cliënt will be very happy too, with this awesome portrait of her beloved pet. Your skils with watercolours are great, and I love how you painted the fur of Belle. My cat Yana, is black and white and I found it very difficult to paint her fur. I didn't succeed and it end-up very solid, but I still love my little portrait of her.
