OK, Silvana, Betsy and Ann ( thanks, guys! I wanted a fairly dark, fairly ominous stormy kind of sky - guess, I'll need to find suitable reference and redo it - or maybe it's just faaaar too dramatic and just a few clouds would do?

The sky adds drama and energy to what would have been a quiet composition. Its like you painted an abstract painting in the sky and then ramped up the color for the rest of it. I am drawn to paintings using secondary color scheme so I find it draws me and is interesting ! Keep it just like this and then explain it to everyone.

Alternately, you can gray down the purple and rename the piece " Fire at xxx " place. ;-)

Okay, I like the color combo, including the colors of the sky. Are you trying to make it look ominous? If so, you need more of thr dark clouds lit up appropriately with side light. I personally am fond of diagonals in the sky to add dynamism to a largely horizontal landscape.

I wouldn't want to be there... it's as if a tornado was approaching...
