Boat sheds

16 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas

This was a brightly lit lakeside scene but with a busy background including a couple of houses, a road and car and various shrub. I have attempted to simplify the scene using the principles in the workshop but I am doubtful as to whether this has worked. Critical comments would be appreciated.

Comment by DENIS KING on November 17, 2014 at 17:07: Thank you all for your comments. The addition of highlights to the boat sheds as suggested by Karlo has helped. Joy has mentioned visual pathways and I wonder if the foreground is in fact acting as a barrier to the background in this instance.
