Jeni, Fauvism is very colorful. I like it when people paint because that is "how they feel". I would think one would have to be very "sure of them selves" to be that bold. I tend to "hold back". Sigh I wish I could slap it on, throw color, and stand back and like what I did! I hope someday that I can be sure of myself to do it. LOL Ro

Thank you so much. I am glad you liked my attempt at that focused light. It is oils with a red transparent glaze. Up by the size I probally only said "oil". At least I try to put it there. Ro

Hi Ro,
Wow to be free of the internet for a few weeks would be wonderful - I love the internet but it is very time consuming and takes up a lot of head space 4 me. Fauvism is a little ho hum now but was very innovative
at the time - here is the wiki link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fauvism, hope you enjoy it - let me know.
Also was very impressed by your latest study of the egg- it literally took my breath away which is rare these days for me. It is exquisite but you do not mention what medium. well done

Wow To , thank you So Much for your comments - I see the whole thing much clearer now and may have another go at it to tidy it up - I can really see what you mean and it is so helpful for me - quite confusing about the shadows now I see what you see.
Such a challenge this seeing hee hee.
I really appreciate your input.
Have you read anything about the fauvists? their colors really inspire me and it is one of the major attractions of painting for me - the color and the light.
Thanks again Jeni

Jeni, Lovely painting. The front bowl is really good! You have the top edge of the bowl shaped just right, and the edge highlight/shadow makes the bowl look round. You appear to be trying for realism, so I am wondering if the highlight could be brought down some to make the lower part of the bowl keep the roundness. // The red bowl is nice and the shape of the top of the vace is good. // The blue bowl, which is between the 2 other bowls in view does not have the same oval shape in the top edge. // The shadow cast by the front bowl appears to have the light coming from the right, but on the bowl it appears to be coming from the left. // I like the composition with the blue bowl being added for balance. Nice. Ro
