Hi Tova, thanks so much for your comments.  I will do what you guys suggested and post it again, just having problems with available bandwidth at the moment so can't post any images.  As soon as its sorted, I'll post the adjusted version for further comment, it helps me a lot, thanks.

I like the whimsical nature, just missing the person or animal on the path and more contrast.

Kim, thank heavens you commented.  Now I can at least try and rescue this post?  It was a slip of my finger and before I could do anything, off the photo goes and there seems to be nothing I could do to stop it, change it, edit it or whatever.  So now I will have to explain.

This is a tiny 4cm x 5cm magazine clipping given to me by a friend suggesting I paint this at a time that I wanted to learn about vanishing points.  I  have no idea who painted it originally.  (Now I am in trouble on top of it!!!  sorry Peter......)

Anyway, it was a HUGE learning curve as far as vanishing points are concerned and the painting is not done yet.  Because I can't figure out what is going on in the centre/middle of the tiny picture, I left it all out, but now it seems bland, as if something missing.  I don't really see a focus point, and thought whatever I add could become that focus point.  Right in the middle?  Don't know.   

Since I am at the deep end here, I might as well ask:  any suggestions please.
