Thank you Caroline! I enjoy this painting very much. Although the sky and clouds are almost white and grey , the value design and brush stroke make them very rich and realistic. the color part of the painting friendly hold the grey sky together,very harmonized. Your bushes are amazing because you skillfully handled the value changes and created terrific texture. It realy is the one of the best bushes I have ever seen. I love them!
Yes, I did use a sponge. I used a brush to paint three different colors, dark, medium and light; and then layers on several different lighter colors with a sponge. Good eye! I am always wondering how others achieve their effects too....
Great work! And very elegent piece.Apart from your conviencing beautiful clouds, I love your bushes so much. How did you apply the oil on the canvas to make such a nice effect? Are you using a sponge?
