Great work on this one Carolyn! Rock is tough one to paint but you did great job!
Hi Maria, thanks for the welcome, seems like forever even though less than a month. Yes, those "rocks" ironically, I am working on some more of them at this very moment...guess it is time to get the Fear of Rocks behind, yes? Glad you like the painting, hope you are busy painting away and having great fun!
Hey, welcome back Carolyn. I have difficultly with rocks at any time, you have done well with this one.:-)
Lovely work, Carolyn! Especially like the colour in the first row of rocks & all the interesting shapes in all the formations.
Beautiful work, love the mood created in this painting!
Hi Saghi, haven't seen you about for a while, thank you for stopping by and your comments, much appreciated!
All brushwork, Silvana, although I had intended to use the knife, just wanted to get to done for now, and move on. I did, however, texturize my canvas using a heavy, random gesso layer. This is from our Arizona Grand Canyon, although a loose representation of it.
Thanks for your affirming Wow's love them, my friend.
Thomas, thanks for your comments, much appreciate them from a long time plein air painter. That is coming up next for me as time becomes available, meanwhile I have a number of WIP that I need to complete in studio. Don't know why I'm so fearful about getting out there!
Wow Carolyn! Did you use a pallette knife?Love the rock pattern!
