Thank you Judy!  I was trying to show more depth....don't know if it really worked or not, but I definitely reworked some things from the original photo.

Melanie, WOW    great job!  Take some artistic license and make that river look less like a canal (I know the photo did look that way)   love it    Judy

Thank you Paolo!  Actually looking back I think it is my third but yes I am still a beginner at painting trees and water, etc. This workshop is inspiring me to pick up my brushes again and learn something new.  I look forward to getting better by learning alot from Richard and others on this site.

Thank you Jeni. I am not a landscape painter and this is only my second landscape painting and it was a struggle!  The green area you refer to is supposed to be distant trees and in appears that I put to much blue in the paint.  I did not notice the transparent look but I think you are right.  Adding more grey green to the mix would probably fix this problem.  Thank you so much for your comments.

Melanie i really like this. The  far mountains are Fabulous and the rocks in the water are so realistic.

Between the mountains there seems to be a green see through area though. i think trees? Not the right colour somehow and the transparency is too eye catching. not good with solutions sorry. Maybe someone else can help.
