Thanks - that is definitely a challenge for me.  I'll keep working on it.  Thanks for all you do and for giving everyone such personal attention.

Sure it's just harder to achieve blends and soft edges.

I am always awestruck by your paintings Richard.  I note that so far you are using oils when you've done your two versions.  Can one achieve anywhere near such a beautiful result using acrylics (notwithstanding that I'll need lifetime of learning as well :-)  Thanks

Thanks Natasha. I squeeze the paints out on the palette as you see them in the video and then add some painting medium as I go - less in the lights, more in the darks. I just taped some canvas to a board for this one, cutting it to the size I want first with blank borders for space for stretching on a stretcher frame later if desired, although you can just glue it to a board as well.

Wonderful demonstration, Richard.  I'm always learning more!  A few questions (though I'm sure they've been addressed somewhere before):  your paints do not appear to be directly out of the tube so I was wondering did you do some sort of manipulation first?  What support do you use?  And do you trim it after you finish your painting?  Thank you for being such an accessible teacher!

Helena and Annie, which video are you referring to?

Thanks for the video - the best thing is watching you work and seeing your processes Richard. It's really useful. Thankyou. Just the right amount of detail!

Are you going to do any more critiques, Richard?
