The colour scheme is very interesting. I like the balance between lights and darks

Susie, your finished painting is gorgeous. Your color sense makes it. Perhaps when you took the photo of your painting, the top was cut off. I had to adjust and readjust my camera to get the whole painting in.
Great job. :-)

I'm loving the gestural feel and especially the handling of the foreground rocks at right.

Hi Susie, Pauline, Li and Sharon, I was replying to Dan's earlier question "can the river come out of the corners or only out the side of the painting thanks". So I was just saying I don't like any strong design lines like the edge of a river or a mountain to exit the painting exactly on the corner of the canvas - better to raise or lower the line to avoid that in my book.

hi li...i think he was talking about the mountain at the top left...it has the look of the top of the mountain going right off the corner - in the actual painting it really doesn't...and that's why i was confused...i think he thought all the dark in my river at the bottom left was like a hole in the painting...should be lightened up a bit - have you posted your painting yet?

Susie, do you now know the meaning of Richard's ¨strong design lines(edges of a river)running off the coner of the canvas¨?  My painting of workshop2 also have a lot of river at the bottom of right. I do not know how to hold my river run off the corner.  Please let me know if you already got the answer from him. Thanks in advance.

richard - i'm confused - what exactly do you mean by strong design lines (edges of a river) running off the edge...i know i have a lot of river at the bottom left but i tried not to run anything off the corner.  am i missing what you're talking about?  i'm hoping to get back to this next week and want to be sure we're on the same page.  thanks!

What about the middle of the river instead of the edge?  one week in October gone... 3 more to go!  I have to rethink my painting a little ... don't worry, I will get it done.  I work well under pressure! lol
