Collioure is the (ex-) fishing village where Matisse et Derain founded Fauvism in 1905. Now a tourits/restaurant experience. The Fauves!!! wow! So I come up with this timid attempt (WIP)...

Thanks, Laura! We're in temporary accommodation as we're moving to Toulouse - don't know if that explains my below-par form!
Saghi - yeah, I do quite a bit of photo manipulation - thanks for the input - the thibg is a had a feeling I wanted to express - but couldn't visualize what I wanted to actually do. I worked long on it and thought a lot about it - which is oft time necessary and useful. I guess I should go back, get more photo ref, do some drawings... etc.
Ann - your comments are pure gold - I'm so pleased to hear what you have to say!
Aurelia - hi! I find blue and yellow to be difficult colors to work. I notice you had some lovely blues in your recent excellent work!
Lovely. Like your colours.
Nice graduated color in the sky. The building looks strong with the orange/purple shadow highlights. The land mass in the foreground is confusing it doesn't look solid but like brown foam. The figures are a little confusing for me they seem to be a mass of colors and no clear separations
I am very happy to see your post Jon! It is very nice!
