Oil on 7 1/2 x 12" masonite
Unfortunately, I have very little time this month, and had to paint this before viewing Richard's video. I did try to include his suggestions about using a variety of brush work. I even tried using a pallette knife...something new for me...something I enjoyed.

You did a beautiful job!!  Love the colors, especially in the sand and shadows.  Nice soft feel.

Thank you Nancy. I will try my best though I am not as creative as you are. With the cane of Richard, I can walk better.

Li, I hope you have a wonderful trip. Canada is a wonderful country to visit. And I hope the person I vote for is able to really help. The quickie painting you do for workshop 14, I'm sure, will be every bit as amazing as the one you did for this one.

Nancy, I am leaving for Canada next Monday. It will last for almost one month. I may have difficulties to follow the activities here. But when I come back I hope that I can manage to paint Workshop 14 in a quick way as you did and upload it here for critics. Hope you vote a right guy for the country. Hugs, Li

Li, you are always so kind. I'm not terribly happy with it...especially after viewing Richard's video. I am in Kauai and won't be able to do another one before we vote. I hope to try another when we return. I'm going to see what magic you performed. I know it will be gorgeous as usual. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Nancy, you did an excellent job without watching the way our teacher doing it. The composition, color relationship, the perspectives and the light shadow relationship all very good. I love it. A beautiful realistic piece. I watched the demo 3 times before I started to paint. I can not imagen what would come out if I did not follow some  instruction. Therefore, I appreciate your job more.
