Thank you for the comments, I will put these into the next try,  I think I will start over and adjust the painting that way.

You have done well for your first try Frank and yes, Richard makes it look so easy!

You have mostly darks - mid darks, you might try a few highlights on the tree where the last light of day hits and also some bright light in the stream. Try to tie these light areas together with the bright grass on right side of stream.
