Original Oil by Jeri McDonald. 16x20 canvas. Commission. This was painted from a photo I took while living in this beautiful Northern California coastal town. The colors are pretty accurate to the photo as this area is known for its brilliant, colorful seascapes. I added clouds that were from another photo and simplified the rocks as there were many more in the photo.

Thanks all for the compliments! Crescent City is beautiful and you can see the ocean mostly during the summer months which really range between late July and October. September is the best month of all...sunny and warm, clear and amazing clouds and colors. This painting was tough for me as I really didn't want to put in the fence but it was the clients choice. I down played it so you will jump it into the rest of the painting. Rocks are not my favorite thing to paint (I need a lot more practice) so I found it an opportunity to work harder at that.

Hi Jeri nice colorful water. I've been to Crescent city several times and it was always socked in with grey fog making the water grey. It would be nice to visit the coast when the color is glowing

I'd love to know this place! What a wonderful colour!
