Thank you Jon and Christine.  I also like the simplicity/vignette style.  It works for watercolour, but I don't think it will work on oils unless you paint it like watercolour.  Pity though, because I think if you paint this on a huge white block canvas it will look nice.  Watercolour you can only paint on paper and smaller size and put behind glass.
