Oil on Canvas 14" X 20".
I wanted to apply what I had learned with the grays on the Workshop 24 painting in a really controlled setting. I designed this to do that. Lessons for me: warm through cool grays, atmospheric perspective, limited palette, dynamic brushwork, careful work on lost and found edges.

Thanks, Silvana. That's really sweet of you to follow up and make sure I had it right. :-)
:)!!!! Great!
Silvana - It's there now. If you click on 'More' at the bottom of the tags, you should see it. :-)
Michael, you have written Workshop24, exactly as you should, but in the wrong place. It should be placed where you have written: 'Atmosphere, Boat,Grays... ' Where you can seethe subtitle'Tags'
Thanks Silvana. I've done it now.
Michael, you must tag it where itsays Tags, bottom right, where you have written Atmosphere, Boat, Grays.. etc. You should write Workshop24, altogether, with capital 'W' !
Theresa - Thanks for commenting. I actually made a composite from two photographs, the rocks plus the boat. I graded the rocks to get the warm to cool grays.
These photos come from a great site called 'Paint My Photo' Good resource.
I agree you should tag this workshop24, you have beautiful grays in this painting.
oh my goodness, I love that red boat. this is very well controlled with your color harmony.
Silvana, thanks for the warm reception! The rocks were the hardest, but at the same time the most fascinating to paint. I have tagged it 24 as it is definitely part of the workshop.
