Drifting Workshop24

Oil on Canvas 14" X 20".
I wanted to apply what I had learned with the grays on the Workshop 24 painting in a really controlled setting. I designed this to do that. Lessons for me: warm through cool grays, atmospheric perspective, limited palette, dynamic brushwork, careful work on lost and found edges.

Comment by Michael Chomse on August 18, 2013 at 23:44: Theresa - Thanks for commenting. I actually made a composite from two photographs, the rocks plus the boat. I graded the rocks to get the warm to cool grays.
