Oil on Canvas 14" X 20".
I wanted to apply what I had learned with the grays on the Workshop 24 painting in a really controlled setting. I designed this to do that. Lessons for me: warm through cool grays, atmospheric perspective, limited palette, dynamic brushwork, careful work on lost and found edges.

Manneherrin, thanks for the encouraging comment. I was worried about the red boat, that it was too obvious, and thus contrived.
Your mysterious and organic style is refreshing. The atmosphere is calming. Color unity is perfect and that red boat is perfectly positioned in the composition. I really like it.
Love your rocks Michael, they are really interesting! Specially the red duck! :)!
I think this painting can be part of this workshop. You should tag it Workshop24!
This one has a wonderful atmospheric quality, Michael. Love the way the sea and sky blend together. The rocks have a tangible weight and texture to them. The red boat is a nice balance to the neutral palette.
Linda - Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that. I hope to improve in all those areas.
Sharon - Thanks for the encouragement. And I've changed the tags.
I believe you reached your goals that you stated above Michael! Good work!
Michael, I think the tag is IA not 1A
Wonderful collection of grays, warm and cool, especially like the top rock
