Mertian, I painted a similar size once and depending on which area of the painting I was working on was which drawer I pulled out in my kitchen cabinets. There were 3 drawers lined up top to bottom. It actually worked nicely as each drawer raised it or lowered it for me. /// I loved the idea of the back of a person for a painting. /// I would try to think of a story to add to the "where he is going" idea, but I can not top Peter's answer. LOL Ro
Many thanks for your comments !!! formum is very new to me so I wonder where this answer is gonna end up to !!!
I remember when I did this painting. As I did not have ANYWHERE to paint at this time of my life, I did it at the entrance of a parking, under the roof, far away from the city, to have a bit of shadow to protect me from the vary high heat of the sun and the wind. It was a one day session as I was to exhibit it the next day or so.... deadline !! It was around 26 inches high maybe, in oils. Cannot remember.
I like to paint people from the back as it gives the viewer a space to complete the story of the painting.
I went right away to your gallery to see what other beautiful works you might have. This is your first post. I hope you have others to post as I am quite impressed with your work. I truly look forward to seeing more. smile Ro
Oh WOW. Excellent job on the painterly style of fabric with such a great range in values. Love the background too. Very good. 5***** and in my favorites. Ro
