Original oil painting by Jeri McDonald. 16x20 canvas. I created this from an actual photo of Yosemite's Elizabeth Lake trail which is hiked from Tuolumne Meadows campground. The experience of this place was like being in a candy store for painters so I took a lot of photos to paint from.

lovely Jeri, I liked the way you greyed the distant trees
Love this! The colors are wonderful
Yes I know what you mean, Jeri! I painted something with acrylics now & really didn't care how much paint I used, as it's so inexpensive & I was much freer in splashing it on!
Thanks to you all. I appreciate your taking time to comment. It seems my stream is the most popular of this painting. I was really trying to highlight my mountains but it didn't come through as such but still, all in all, I feel this painting is a success and will probably paint another on stretched canvas this time. This was a practice one from canvas pad cheap stuff. That seems like always the way when I use the inexpensive practice stuff, I do better and when I use my well primed boards and canvas, I seem to be too careful and I don't relax. Anyone else have that issue?
Wonderful colors and broken colors! Love this painting!
Beautiful painting ! I especially like the strong stream and foreground
Beautiful !!
Wow, this is gorgeous, Jeri!
