This watercolor wash and ink painting is of the Sentinel Building in San Francisco. It was one of the few buildings East of Van Ness Ave. to survive the 1906 earthquake and fire. I call it the Coppola Building, because the movie director Francis Ford Coppola occupies the top two floors and Cafe Zeotrope on the ground floor. I was attracted by the copper patina on the facade of the building.
